West Ham have completed eight signings this summer. Recently, the club signed Nice centre back Jean-Clair Todibo and Manchester United right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Alongside summer signing Max Kilman, the club have reinforced their defence which conceded 74 goals last season.
Julen Lopetegui's side signed FIFA World Cup winner Guido Rodriguez to partner Edson Alvarez in midfield to have more ball possession in the game. West Ham also signed Leeds United winger Cryscencio Summerville and Borussia Dortmund forward Niclas Fullkrug to further bolster their attack which already has star forwards like Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta.
Newcastle United enter the race to sign West Ham transfer target
However, the club can still make a few signings and sell some players as well. Since the start of the transfer window, West Ham are interested in signing Galatasaray winger Baris Alper Yilmaz. Now, according to ABC Gazetesi, Premier League side Newcastle United have entered the race to sign Yilmaz from Galatasaray this summer.
Playing for Galatasaray, the 24-year-old winger scored seven goals and provided 12 assists in 55 apeareances last season. His performances were impressive which helped Galatasaray winning the Turkish league in back to back seasons. Also, the Turkish playmaker is versatile and can play as a winger, a centre forward and a creative playmaker as well.
After signing Cryscencio Summerville for the left wing position, West Ham won't try to sign Yilmaz this summer. Also, the 24-year-old star is valued at around £30 million and West Ham will need to sell a few players in order to sign Yilmaz from Galatasaray. Hence, Newcastle United and Aston Villa are the frontrunners to sign Yilmaz in this transfer window.
