West Ham are making waves in the transfer market as they pursue Galatasaray's rising star Baris Alper Yilmaz. The 24-year-old Turkish international has caught the attention of several Premier League clubs following his impressive performances at Euro 2024.

Hammers' summer transfer window started with three signings with Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham and £40 million centre-back Max Kilman added to Julen Lopetegui's side. However, the last three weeks have been rather quiet with approaches made for Aston Villa's young forward, Jhon Duran as well as Nice's Jean-Clair Todibo.

However, those deals have not materialised yet with the club also keeping tabs on Lucas Paqueta's uncertain situation. Recently, it was revealed that FA's decision on Paqueta can come midway through the season as well, thus West Ham should be prepared in case the decision does not go in their favour.

This has led the club to keep an eye on the attacking midfielder and wingers in the transfer market. Now, according to a recent report from YeniAkit, the Hammers have now set their sights on Yilmaz, with Galatasaray valuing the dynamic winger at close to £30 million.

The 24-year-old playmaker's club form has been equally impressive. Last season, Yilmaz made 55 appearances across all competition for Galatasaray scoring seven goals and providing 12 assists. His contributions were instrumental in Galatasaray's back-to-back league title triumphs. Another of Yilmaz's special traits is his versatility, as the young Turk can operate on both flanks, as a number 9, and even as a full-back, thanks to his tackling prowess.

West Ham are not the only club vying for Yilmaz's signature. Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also in the hunt for the winger. Furthermore, clubs from Italy, Spain, and France are keeping a close eye on his situation. The report states that, Galatasaray value the youngster at €35 million (£30 million) and will only entertain offers that meet their valuation.

Signing Baris Alper Yilmaz would be a major coup for West Ham as they look to strengthen their squad for the Premier League and try to aim for silverwares like FA Cup and Carabao Cup. Yilmaz's versatility, work ethic, and proven track record make him an ideal fit for Julen Lopetegui's side. However, with fierce competition from other top clubs, the Hammers will need to move quickly and decisively to bring the Turkish sensation from the RAMS Park to the London Stadium.

Baris Alper Yilmaz's eye-catching performances at Euro 2024 and his outstanding club form have made him a highly coveted player. If West Ham can secure his services, it would be a significant boost to their top six ambitions for the 2024/25 Premier League.
