It was always going to be a feisty game. However, few would have expected how poor West Ham United would be. Despite a poor performance, the Hammers managed to claim a 2-2 draw with Millwall.
The match was somewhat like an England performance against a fellow home-nation side. Millwall were more up for it, and West Ham, despite having better players, failed to show up.
Player Ratings
- Mads Hermansen - 5: Made a great save just before Millwall's first goal. However, he still ended up conceding twice.
- Kyle Walker-Peters - 4: Often struggled against Millwall goalscorer Camiel Neghli. Kyle Walker-Peters was then taken off at half-time.
- Konstantinos Mavropanos - 6: Just like his performance against Fulham in mid-week, Mavropanos was excellent in an attacking sense, but poor defensively.
- Max Kilman (c) - 5: Made some crucial clearances for the Hammers.
- Morato - 5: Was the first player to be booked, at a surprisingly late time in the 40th minute.
- Jarrod Bowen - 6: Was targeted from the first minute by the Millwall players. However, Bowen soldiered on and put some good crosses into the box.
- Arne Engels - 5: Should have been acclimatised better to the derby, having played in the Old Firm for Celtic.
- Divine Mukasa - 6: His driving runs were a threat in a poor West Ham team performance.
- Manor Solomon - 6: Did not perform as well as he has recently, but still set up Mavropanos' equaliser.
- Taty Castellanos - 5: Average performance and has now been caught up in an alleged spitting scandal.
- Joel Piroe - 4: Did little of note and was replaced by Pablo at half-time.
Off the Bench
- Pablo - 7: After getting his first West Ham goal on Tuesday night, it was a surprise that Pablo started on the bench. However, he was a threat when he came on and set up Mohamadou Kante's goal.
- Mohamadou Kante - 8: Got the Hammers back into it with his goal from range. Kante then denied a Millwall goal by fouling Kyrell Lisbie. However, he was then shown a red card.
- Edvin Austbo - 6: Made slight amends for his recent comments that he wants to play for a 'bigger club' with an energetic cameo.
- Lewis Orford - N/A: Came on in added time to ensure the Hammers claimed a point.
