Staying in the Premier League is the priority for West Ham United. This is why Nuno Espirito Santo fielded a weakened side against Brentford last night in the FA Cup. However, the Hammers still managed to see off the Bees on penalties after a 2-2 draw at the London Stadium.

Below, we're rating the West Ham players on a scale of 1 to 10.
Goalkeeper and defenders
Alphonse Areola (GK): 6
West Ham's cup keeper looked composed, but did flap at Igor Thiago's goal. Made Dango Ouattara look stupid by standing still an catching his Panenka in the shootout.
Kyle Walker-Peters (LB): 6
Kyle Walker-Peters was solid, but did let Keane Lewis-Potter get away from him for a chance late on.
Dinos Mavropanos (CB): 7
You can have no complaints about Dinos Mavropanos' performance. The Greek international also scored the winner in the shootout.
Axel Disasi (CB): 7
At times, Axel Disasi dived in too early. However, the Chelsea loanees good form continued. He had an effort from range just go over the bar late on.
Ollie Scarles (LB): 4
Often looked out of position and got beaten easily by Ouattara as Brentford equalized. Ollie Scarles was dragged off at half-time for Ezra Mayers.
Midfielders
Tomas Soucek (CDM): 7
Tomas Soucek was always a threat from set-pieces. He had the responsibility of guiding the 20-year-old Mohamadou Kante through the game. Soucek also converted his penalty in the shootout.
Mohamadou Kante (CDM): 6
Partnered Socek well in midfield, and was replaced by Soungoutou Magassa late on.
Mateus Fernandes (CAM): 7
The Portuguese midfielder put in an excellent ball into the box which led to Jarrod Bowen's opener. Mateus Fernandes' deliveries from long free kicks were also sublime.
Forwards
Jarrod Bowen (RW): 9
Tapped in to give the Hammers the lead, and then scored from the spot to re-establish West Ham's advantage. Bowen was always willing to run at the Brentford defense, and take chances. He got the Hammers on their way to winning the shootout by converting the first one.
Pablo (CF): 5
Pablo returned from injury but offered little. Taty Castellanos replaced him after 60 minutes.
Adama Traore (LW): 5
Won the penalty, which Bowen converted. Adama Traore, had a rare start, but was replaced by Crysencio Summerville at the break. Summerville, unfortunately, gave away the penalty from which Brentford got their second equalizer from.
