Cesare Casadei came through the ranks at Chelsea after a spell in Inter Milan's academy. However, he would play just 17 times for the Blues' first team.
Whilst with Chelsea, Casadei was sent on loan to Reading and Leicester City. His loan to Reading was not so successful as he made 15 appearances as the Royals were relegated from the Championship. However, with Leicester, the midfielder played 25 games, as the Foxes were promoted back to the Premier League by winning English soccer's second tier.
Casadei did not join Leicester permanently, but had another year at Chelsea before heading back to Italy to join Torino. He has become a key player for the Serie A side, making 43 appearances in all competitions.
His form for Torino has led to interest from two Premier League sides. Ekrem Konur posted on X: "Everton & West Ham are circling former Chelsea talent Cesare Casadei after his Serie A breakthrough with Torino. Standing 1.92m, dominant in the air, and Italy-called, he could command £40M+ this summer."
West Ham need to stay up if they are to sign Cesare Casadei
The Hammers are still in the bottom three, so if they are to be relegated, then they will have no chance in signing Casadei. Everton are currently eighth, so a move to David Moyes' side currently appears more attractive for footballing reasons.
However, being a former Chelsea player, a move to West Ham to go back to London could be tempting. This is providing the Hammers stay in the Premier League.
Casadei is now 23, but has yet to play for Italy at the senior level. Although he has represented his country up to the Under-21 level. It was at the 2023 Under-20 World Cup where Casadei starred. He won the competition's Golden Ball and Golden Boot as Italy got to the final in Argentina, where they lost to Uruguay.
