West Ham assembled one of the best front three in the Premier League during the summer transfer window by bringing elite players such as Niclas Fullkrug and Cryscencio Summerville to their attack. On top of that, Julen Lopetegui's side also possesses star forwards such as Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, and Lucas Paqueta and thus were expected to become one of the best goalscoring sides in the English top flight.

However, that hasn't been the case at the beginning of the season, with Fullkrug missing the previous six league matches due to his injury and Mohammed Kudus, recently, receiving a red card in the massive 4-1 away defeat to Tottenham Hotspurs, two weeks ago. While Cryscencio Summerville has displayed his huge potential in his limited playing time and even found the back of the net against Manchester United, Paqueta has been largely underwhelming in the ongoing season as the 27-year-old often gives away the ball possession while creating some huge chances inside the final third.

Hence, West Ham could consider bringing in a few young forwards in the January transfer window to bolster their attack and thus are interested in signing 18-year-old Hertha Berlin playmaker Ibrahim Maza. The promising forward has found the back of the net four times across all competitions this season and even provided an assist for the second-division side.

Maza's encouraging performances and game awareness have attracted transfer interest from a lot of Premier League clubs, such as West Ham, who are huge admirers of the 18-year-old's talent. Further, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus can depart the London Stadium next season, and therefore, the Hammers want to bring in a few talented forwards to bolster their attack.

For signing Maza, West Ham will need to pay around a £20 million transfer fee, and the Hammers should consider signing the creative playmaker on a six-month loan deal initially before deciding to sign him on a permanent basis in the next summer transfer window. It remains to be seen whether West Ham will enter into negotiations with Hertha Berlin to sign Maza in January.
