West Ham United have had some great Argentine players over the years. Carlos Tevez, Manuel Lanzini, and Mauro Zarate have all starred for the Hammers.

Taty Castellanos, who is also from the South American country, is currently finding his feet in East London. He has scored three goals in 14 games so far for West Ham, as the club bids to maintain its Premier League status.

Staying in the top flight will be key for West Ham's recruitment in the summer. If they go down to the Championship, then not many top players will be looking to head to the London Stadium.

The Italian outlet Tuttosport has revealed that West Ham and Nottingham Forest are interested in Bologna's Santiago Castro. However, they both face competition from AC Milan.

Who is Santiago Castro, and would he be a good fit for West Ham?

Castro came through the ranks at Velez Sarsfield, who he represented 64 times, scoring nine goals and providing two assists. His form in Argentina led to a move to Europe with Bologna.

The 21-year-old striker has gone to another level in Italy. So far for Bologna, he has scored 22 goals, with 13 assists in 95 games. He has also helped the Serie A side win the Coppa Italia, where they defeated Milan in the final. Castro is yet to play for Argentina at the senior level, but has represented them up to the Under-20 level.

It is crazy that West Ham and Forest, who are battling to survive in the Premier League, are competing with Milan for Castro's signature. However, English soccer is the best division in the world, and it is where top players want to test themselves.
