West Ham aiming to continue winning momentum against Tottenham Hotspurs

After two weeks of the international break, West Ham will again focus on their Premier League campaign as they visit Tottenham Hotspurs in their fourth away match. The Hammers are currently twelfth in the league table with eight points while Ange Postecoglou's side are eighth in the league with ten points after the first seven matches. Despite West Ham being two points behind Tottenham Hotspurs, Julen Lopetegui's side took an important 4-1 win against Ipswich Town while Tottenham Hotspurs conceded three second half goals against Brighton to face their third league defeat. 

Hence, the Hammers have a good momentum on their side as they aim to secure another away win against the home side after their 2-1 comeback win last season. Argentina star Cristian Romero gave the hosts an early 1-0 lead but Jarrod Bowen and Nottingham Forest's on-loan star James Ward-Prowse scored to give West Ham an important away win at the beginning of the season. However, Tottenham Hotspurs have been playing some good football recently, as they picked up four consecutive wins from their previous five matches across all competitions.

That includes a massive 3-0 win against Erik Ten Hag's Manchester United and highlights their prolific goalscoring form as the home side have scored thirteen goals in these five matches. That is an area where Tottenham Hotspurs have thrived this season, while missing key players such as Heung Min-Son and Richarlison for a significant number of matches.

Therefore, West Ham will need to take inspiration from the Ipswich Town match, as they kept defensive solidity in the first half which led the foundation for a huge 4-1 win. West Ham's all-time Premier League topscorer Michail Antonio gave an early lead to the Hammers in the previous match and will be looking forward to play a key role in the upcoming match, having already scored six Premier League goals against Tottenham Hotspurs.

Now it remains to be seen whether West Ham can continue their winning ways to take an important away win against Ange Postecoglou's side.
