However, it seems that agreeing a deal for Mazraoui was part of Tim Steidten's plan to increase the efforts to land Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Journalist, Florian Plettenberg has covered a new update on West Ham's right-back pursuit, saying,
"After the failed deal with Noussair Mazraoui, West Ham is now focusing on Aaron Wan-Bissaka!

New talks are planned for the next 48 hours.
ManUtd have lowered their demands. Price valuation of around £10-15m now. No agreements yet."
This comes as a positive update amidst the news of Manchester United entering the race to sign Noussair Mazraoui. However, this was a speculation previously that West Ham's pursuit of Mazraoui was to put Manchester United in a position to replace Wan-Bissaka with Mazraoui.
Red Devils manager, Erik Ten Hag worked previously with Noussair Mazraoui during their time at Ajax winning the Dutch league. And United have signed a lot of Ten Hag's former players including Antony, Lisandro Martinez, Andre Onana as part of his long term plans at the Old Trafford.
And Mazraoui is highly likely to be the next in this list with the Moroccan defender being well-familiarized with Ten Hag's tactical setup. Thus, by signing Mazraoui, Manchester United look to offload Aaron Wan-Bissaka simultaneously, with West Ham the only team interested in the Englishman's signature currently.
Now, West Ham need to ensure they finalize Wan-Bissaka's signing before any other club expresses interest in the right-back.
