According to TeamTALK, West Ham has entered the race to sign Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The Hammers are looking at the Red Devils to bolster their right-back spot for the upcoming season and are looking to sign a central defender as well this summer as they look to improve defensively under Julen Lopetegui, who was become the new Hammers coach. Apart from the club's interest in Nice's Jean-Clair Todibo, the Hammers are also pursuing Premier League star Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
West Ham enter race to sign pacey Premier League fullback
With Vladimir Coufal being the only distinguished right-back in the squad, manager, Julen Lopetegui is desperate to bring in Manchester United's 26-year-old pacey right-back, Wan-Bissaka. The Premier League defender is superb on one-on-one man marking as he has become an unplayable fullback in the league. The INEOS side valued the Englishman at £15 million which is said to be well within West Ham's reach to bolster their back line.
The report further claims that Julen Lopetegui's side are nearing an agreement for the player who has spent five years at Old Trafford. If this transfer goes through, it's a bargain for a 26-year-old unplayable right back who can just become better and better at West Ham with significant first team minutes which Wan-Bissaka has seen hard to come by at United with Erik Ten Hag preferring Diogo Dalot over the Englishman at right-back.
With the preseason going in full flow at the club, the clear intent in the transfer market shows that West Ham fans can expect a superb season after missing out on European competitions last season. Other positions like centre-back are also a priority with West Ham finally getting their bid accepted by Nice for Jean-Clair Todibo who is Julen Lopetegui's dream defensive signing to partner new signing, Max Kilman in defense.
