Speaking about the update, Florian Plettenberg reported,

"MUFC and West Ham now trying to find an agreement about a transfer of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Talks between WHUFC and Wan-Bissaka have taken place in the last 72 hours."

After missing out on signing Noussair Mazraoui, West Ham look determined to bring Wan Bissaka to the London Stadium after missing on a lot of defensive targets in this transfer window. Also, the recent 3-1 defeat to Wolves added further importance to strengthen the defence after conceding two goals inside five minutes in the second half.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka represents a significant upgrade on Vladimir Coufal, who despite being a good signing, is 31-years-old and the Hammers can't go into the new season with only one right back.
Plus, Wan-Bissaka's one on one defending makes him a reliable fullback who can even fill in at centre back whenever needed. Now, West Ham need to finalize this transfer quickly and look to bring in a new striker and a new centre-back to partner summer signing Max Kilman.

Moreover, West Ham are said to be interested in signing Lens Champions League playing defender, Kevin Danso for the centre back role. A back four of Emerson, Max Kilman, Kevin Danso and Aaron Wan Bissaka would give more stability to the Hammers defence and suits more to Julen Lopetegui's high pressing tactical setup.
