For some West Ham United players, their focus on keeping the club in the Premier League will have to be parked as they go away with their countries on international duty.
Some Hammers fans were hoping to see Crysencio Summerville called up by the Netherlands for the first time at the senior level. However, his recent injury appears to have led Ronald Koeman to decide not to pick him this time.
West Ham United players on international duty
Jarrod Bowen - England
Despite West Ham enduring a difficult campaign, Jarrod Bowen has maintained his place in the England squad. Perhaps that he is a leader in a struggling team has impressed Thomas Tuchel. It is also great that the Three Lions' manager is not just picking players from the ones at teams at the top of the Premier League, as many of the country's bosses have done in the past.
Bowen has 20 caps for England, with one goal that came against Ireland. He will be looking to impress in the matches against Uruguay and Japan to secure his place at the World Cup this summer.
El Hadj Malick Diouf - Senegal
El Hadj Malick Diouf and his Senegalese teammates have recently suffered the astonishing disappointment of having their Africa Cup of Nations title taken away from them. They will have to put this behind them as they prepare for the World Cup with friendlies against Peru and Gambia this international break.
Mads Hermansen - Denmark
Mads Hermansen re-establishing himself as West Ham's first choice goalkeeper has led to a call-up from Denmark. He is yet to play a senior game for his country, but now has a great opportunity with Kasper Schmeichel out with a shoulder injury.
Denmark is in the World Cup playoffs. They will face North Macedonia, and should they progress, will face either the Czech Republic or Ireland in their playoff final.
Tomas Soucek - Czech Republic
We could see two West Ham players battling it out for a place at the World Cup if Denmark and the Czech Republic both win their semi-final matches. Tomas Soucek's side will have to get past Ireland first to play North Macedonia or Hermansen's Denmark.
Mateus Fernandes - Portugal
Mateus Fernandes could make his senior debut for Portugal as he has been called up for the first time by Roberto Martinez. Portugal's preparation for the World Cup this international break includes fixtures against two of the host nations, the United States and Mexico.
Dinos Mavropanos - Greece
Unfortunatley Dinos Mavropanos' Greece have failed to even make the World Cup playoffs as they finished third in their qualification group behind Scotland and Denmark. However, Mavropanos will likely play a key role for Greece in friendlies against Paraguay and Hungary this international break.
Keiber Lamadrid - Venezuela
Despite only playing once for West Ham since joining the club in January, Keiber Lamadrid has been called up for Venezuela. He made his debut for his country at the end of last year, where he appeared as a substitute against Canada.
Venezuela will also not be at the World Cup this summer, but Lamadrid could gain more experience in friendlies against Trinidad and Tobago, and Uzbekistan.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka - DR Congo
Aaron Wan-Bissaka's DR Congo have a great chance of qualifying for the World Cup this summer as they are already through to the playoff final. They will face either New Caledonia or Jamaica for a place at the tournament.
Callum Marshall - Northern Ireland
Callum Marshall, who is on loan from West Ham at Bochum, has been called up by Northern Ireland. He already has 14 caps for his country. However, Northern Ireland faces the difficult task of getting past Italy in the World Cup playoff semi-final. Should they progress, they will then face either Wales or Bosnia and Herzegovina for a place at the competition in North America this summer.
