West Ham United have five current players at the World Cup this summer. This includes Crysencio Summerville, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, El Hadji Malick Diouf, Tomáš Souček, and Edson Álvarez. Many of whom will soon be former Hammers after the club's relegation.

West Ham has always produced and developed many talented players. Here are four former Hammers who will be at the tournament.

Former West Ham players at the 2026 World Cup

Lucas Paquetá - Brazil

West Ham fans will have mixed memories of Lucas Paqueta's time at the London Stadium. He had that Brazilian flair and assisted Jarrod Bowen's winner in the Europa Conference League final. However, his period at the club was overshadowed by betting allegations.

The accusations cost him a transfer to Manchester City. The saga took its toll on the player, and he abandoned West Ham in January to return to Brazil with Flamengo. He has kept his place in Brazil's roster where he plays central and attacking midfield roles.

Declan Rice - England

Declan Rice has become a Premier League winner with Arsenal since leaving West Ham. However, he appears to still have strong feelings for his former club. He was seen distraught after seeing the Hammers' relegation confirmed despite the fact that he had just lifted the Premier League trophy.

There is no doubt that Rice is one of the best midfielders in the world. There will be expectations on him to control the middle of the park for an England side that has a good chance of winning the tournament under Thomas Tuchel.

Vladimír Coufal - Czech Republic

Vladimír Coufal is another former Hammer who is still very invested in the club. He regularly speaks about West Ham in interviews and on social media. The right-back now plays for Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga. He will play alongside current West Ham midfielder Souček at the tournament. They are in the same group as Mexico, so a clash with Álvarez's side is set up.

Marko Arnautović - Austria

West Ham fans will remember Marko Arnautović as a top goalscorer. However, he surprisingly left the club to go to Shanghai Port. The Austrian has since returned to Europe and now plays for the Serbian side, Red Star Belgrade.

The striker is now 37 and is one of the most experienced players at the tournament. He has 133 caps for Austria, with 47 goals.

Additional notes

There will also be former West Ham coaches at the tournament, with Julen Lopetegui in charge of Qatar and Graham Potter the manager of Sweden. Potter's side will face Summerville's Netherlands in the group stage.
