Many West Ham United fans were hoping to see Jarrod Bowen in the England roster for the World Cup. However, he was overlooked by Thomas Tuchel despite featuring in recent Three Lions squads. Despite Bowen's snub, there will still be five West Ham players at the tournament in North America this summer.
Every West Ham United player going to the World Cup
Crysencio Summerville - Netherlands
Crysencio Summerville would have made his Netherlands debut already but for injury. He will likely get his first cap in one of Ronald Koeman's side's friendlies against Algeria or Uzbekistan before the tournament.
In the Dutch team's group are Japan, Sweden, and Tunisia. The match with Sweden is particularly interesting from a West Ham perspective as it will see Summerville face off against his former manager at the club, Graham Potter.
Summerville starred for West Ham this season and was seen as the hope that could keep the Hammers in the Premier League. Unfortunately, it was not to be, and the winger will likely depart the club this summer. Big clubs, including AS Roma and Olympique Marseille, are interested in the player.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka - DR Congo
Another West Ham player going to the World Cup is Aaron Wan-Bissaka. However, he might not also be a West Ham player for long, with Everton reportedly looking to sign him.
They are in a group with Portugal, Colombia, and Uzbekistan. Many Hammers fans would have expected to see him in action against Mateus Fernandes in the Portugal match. However, Fernandes, despite making his debut for Roberto Martinez's side, is not in their roster for the World Cup.
El Hadji Malick Diouf - Senegal
El Hadji Malick Diouf had the high of winning the Africa Cup of Nations this year. However, then had the ignominy of the title being stripped from Senegal. His side needs to put this behind them as they are in a tough group at the World Cup. They will face France, Saudi Arabia, and Norway.
Diouf is another Hammers player who will likely be sold this summer. Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the left-back.
Tomáš Souček - Czech Republic
Perhaps the only West Ham player on this list who will remain at the club beyond the end of the transfer window. Although there have been rumors that David Moyes wants a reunion with him at Everton.
Tomáš Souček is no longer the Czech Republic's captain but is still a key player for them. They are in an interesting World Cup group, with the co-hosts Mexico, South Africa, and South Korea. He will be playing alongside former Hammer, Vladimír Coufal.
Edson Álvarez - Mexico
You might have forgotten that Edson Álvarez is still a West Ham player, as he has been on loan at Fenerbahçe for the season just gone. He is set to return to the Hammers, but is still expected to leave the club this summer.
Álvarez is Mexico's main man, and pressure will be on their captain to perform as they are co-hosting the tournament. We will see him face off against Souček and Coufal's Czech Republic in the group stages.
