At the beginning of the season, Liverpool star Mohammed Salah announced that it's his last season at the Reds increasing speculations that the Egypt international will depart Liverpool after eight impressive seasons at the club. Therefore, Liverpool are expected to make a huge signing on the right wing position to replace Salah and given the fact that they only signed Federico Chiesa for a £15 million transfer fee in this summer, Arne Slot's side have enough transfer funds to sign any world class forward in the upcoming transfer windows. Further it's increasingly likely that they can turn their attention towards West Ham star forward Mohammed Kudus at the end of the season.
Since joining the UEFA Conference League Champions in 2023, Kudus gave an impressive performance in his debut season at the London Stadium scoring fourteen goals and providing six assists. Similar to Salah, Kudus is a left-footed right-winger who uses his blistering pace and dribbling to constantly create huge goalscoring chances in the match. Therefore Kudus is a similar profile player as compared to the 32-year-old Premier League winner and moreover, Liverpool can sign him for around £85 million next season.
Fabrizio Romano gives massive transfer boost regarding £38 million Hammers star
This is the release clause in Kudus's West Ham contract which will activate next year, hence there is growing uncertainty among West Ham fans that their star forward might join their Premier League rivals Liverpool. However transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given a massive transfer boost to West Ham suggesting that Liverpool are trying to convince Salah to sign a contract, and thus, may not need a right-wing replacement in the coming seasons. Speaking to Caught Offside, Fabrizio Romano revealed the speculation surrounding Kudus's West Ham exit, saying,
"Liverpool are not in discussions or planning any move yet, it’s just a moment where they explore the market and still talk to Salah about the contract. Similarly, with Kudus and Liverpool there is currently nothing concrete to report."Fabrizio Romano
If the Reds manage to secure Salah's signature on a new contract at Liverpool, this would increase West Ham's chances of keeping Mohammed Kudus at the London Stadium for atleast a couple of seasons. Further if Federico Chiesa becomes a key player in Arne Slot's attack, then Liverpool wouldn't have to consider bringing in any reinforcements for the right flank, thus, won't try to submit a transfer offer to the Hammers for the former Ajax star. Still there may be other top Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United who can improve their squad with a world class playmaker like Kudus, therefore there are still chances of the 24-year-old leaving the London Stadium after this season.
Alongside that if West Ham manage to qualify for playing European football next season, Kudus staying at West Ham is another option which isn't completely ruled out yet.
