A few weeks ago, West Ham completed the big signing of Nice centre back Jean-Clair Todibo. While top European clubs like Juventus were interested in Todibo, West Ham managed to secure the signature of Todibo, who had been the Hammers priority signing for the central defender role. Further, in his three seasons in the French league, the 24-year-old has become one of the best young defenders in European football.
Last year, the former Barcelona defender's impressive displays led him to make his France debut as well. On top of that, West Ham's technical director Tim Steidten heaped praise on Todibo and revealed why the Hammers decided to sign him. Hence, Todibo is expected to be a world class player for West Ham and France.
West Ham will sell a star player for signing Jean-Clair Todibo
West Ham have signed Todibo on a season long loan with an option to buy him next season. Thus, to sign Todibo on a permanent basis next season, West Ham may have to sell a star player. Now according to The Athletic, star forward Mohammed Kudus may leave West Ham to join a top European club in 2025.
The 24-year-old forward's West Ham contract has a release clause of £85 million, which can be activated in the next summer transfer window. Since arriving from Ajax for £38 million, last year, Kudus has performed brilliantly for West Ham scoring fourteen goals and providing six assists in his debut season at the London Stadium. However, West Ham would have to sell Kudus next season to sign Todibo.
However, West Ham can sell a few players to raise funds for Todibo's signing and if the Hammers qualify for European football this season, Kudus may look to stay at West Ham for further upcoming seasons.
