14th: Crystal Palace

Let me start by saying this, I think Palace have had a fantastic summer window this year. New manager Patrick Vieira will still have his work cut out for him though. A lot of these new signings are young and will take some time to learn how to play together.

Arguably Palace’s main issue that needed addressing this summer was their aging defense. In my opinion they covered this very well signing center backs Marc Guehi from Chelsea and Joachim Andersen from Olympique Lyon. Andersen spent last season on loan at Fulham and came in second in their player of the season voting.

Right midfielder Andros Townsend left the club after five years this window for Everton but the Eagles replaced him with talented 19 year old Michael Olise from Reading. Olise will have plenty of time to adapt to the Premier League this year with Eberechi Eze unfortunately missing likely all season due to injury.

Palace also dipped back into the seemingly never ending Chelsea youngster pool taking midfielder Conor Gallagher in on loan. While I like all these moves for the Eagles I just don’t see them making a push to the top half of the table just yet. With a first year manager and a lot of young signings I see this as a project that could pay off a year or two in the future.
