Jarrod Bowen could leave West Ham United for a cut-price if West Ham United fail to gain promotion. Freddie Potts has joined Club Brugge permanently, and Jean-Clair Todibo continues to be linked with top clubs.
Clause in Jarrod Bowen's contract revealed
There was relief for West Ham fans after Jarrod Bowen committed to the club despite relegation to the Championship. The Hammers are expected to bounce straight back up to the Premier League. However, if that does not happen, it could be inevitable that Bowen would depart.
According to talkSPORT, "Bowen can leave West Ham for as little as £15million if they fail to win promotion this season."
£15 million is very little in today's market, and that would gain the attention of multiple Premier League clubs. Bowen was linked with the likes of Everton and Aston Villa this summer. They, among others, would inevitably come knocking if West Ham fail to get promoted.
It is smart for Bowen to insert this into his contract, as there is no major international tournament next summer. However, the following year is Euro 2028, which is to be held in the UK & Ireland. Bowen needs to be playing top-flight football if he is to be part of Thomas Tuchel's plans in that tournament.
Freddie Potts has now left West Ham
It is always sad to see an academy graduate depart the club, and Freddie Potts has now done so. He has left for Club Brugge and penned an emotional farewell message to West Ham.
His message, which was published on West Ham's official website, included the line, "I may be moving on but one thing will never change, I will always be a West Ham fan before anything. At the end of the day, I’m just a kid who was lucky enough to live out his dream."
Jean-Clair Todibo linked with another Serie A side
Jean-Clair Todibo is a player many West Ham fans will want to see the back of. He fell out with Nuno Espirito Santo last season and appears to have no future at the club.
Despite his poor form and bad attitude at West Ham, Todibo continues to be linked with top clubs. TuttoMercatoWeb has reported (translated from Italian), "Atalanta are firmly entering the race for Jean-Clair Todibo, adding competition to Juventus, who have been tracking the West Ham French defender for weeks to strengthen their defence ahead of the new season."
Todibo has also been linked with Napoli, but there is also interest from the Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille.
