Crysencio Summerville was a key player for Leeds United before West Ham United snapped him up. He performed well for Leeds United in the Premier League, but suffered relegation with them during the 2022/23 season.
In the following campaign, Summerville starred in the Championship. He scored 19 goals, with nine assists in 43 regular-season games in English soccer's second tier. With Leeds, they got to the playoffs, where Summerville scored in their playoff semi-final victory over Norwich City. However, they then lost to Southampton at Wembley in the playoff final.
Summerville was not going to spend another season in the Championship. He was linked with big teams across Europe, including Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and Arsenal. However, it was West Ham for whom he would join in the summer of 2024.
His first season with the Hammers was disrupted by a hamstring problem, which meant he only played 19 times in the Premier League. However, there were glimpses of excellence from the Dutchman, which included a goal in a 2-1 win over Manchester United at the London Stadium.
Summerville returned to action on Matchday 3 of this season's Premier League campaign. He set up two goals in the Hammers' 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. However, he would not have a goal involvement until January 2026, when he again set up a goal against Forest.

Unfortunately, West Ham would lose that tie with Forest 2-1. However, Summerville then went on to score in four consecutive Premier League games. During these matches, the Hammers beat Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland, and Burnley, but suffered a defeat to Chelsea despite having a two-goal lead.
Summerville also spared West Ham's blushes in the FA Cup when he scored the winner in extra-time against Burton Albion of League One. He had previously also found the back of the net and set up Taty Castellanos' winner versus Queens Park Rangers in the previous round.
The Dutchman has credited his form this year to his baby daughter, who was born in December. Speaking to the BBC, Summerville said, "I just got a baby girl, so that is what brought me a bit of peace as well. It's a big blessing from god, and I feel very good. I think you can see that on the pitch, and during my game, I am enjoying myself."
West Ham is currently still in the bottom three. However, Summerville's form has given the Hammers hope that they can retain their Premier League status. There will no doubt be top teams interested in the left-winger in the future. He is yet to be capped by the Netherlands at the senior level. However, his form has given him an outside chance of making Ronaldo Koeman's roster for the World Cup this summer.
