West Ham United could find themselves back in the relegation zone if Tottenham Hotspur beat Aston Villa this evening. The Hammers' performance in the 3-0 defeat to Brentford will have supporters worrying if their side has the character to stay in the Premier League.
Brentford–West Ham Premier League player ratings
Below, we're rating the West Ham players on a scale of 1 to 10.
Goalkeeper and defenders
Mads Hermanson (GK): 5
Rushed off his line and was caught in no man's land, but the Bees did not punish him on that occasion. The goalkeeper was sent the wrong way when Brentford doubled their lead with the penalty.
Kyle Walker-Peters (RB): 5
Kyle Walker-Peters came off after 65 minutes and was replaced by Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The substitute looked lethargic as Brentford sealed the victory with their third. He was heavily criticized by Wayne Rooney on Match of the Day.
Dinos Mavropanos (CB): 6
Thought he had made amends for the own goal by scoring, but his header was ruled out for a marginal offside. Still defended quite well, and was willing to start attacks.
Axel Disasi (CB): 5
Not much heroics from Axel Disasi on this occasion.
El Hadj Malik Diouf (LB): 5
Put good crosses in and was effective offensively, but defensively is suspect. Gave away a penalty, which Brentford doubled their lead with.
Midfielders
Jarrod Bowen (RM): 5
Put a good cross in from a corner, which Taty Castellanos hit the post from. However, apart from that, Jarrod Bowen did not create much.
Mateus Fernandes (CM): 5
Not as effective as he has been recently.
Tomas Soucek (CM): 6
Dragged an effort just wide of the post.
Crysencio Summerville (LM): 6
Excellent dribbling, and he was unfortunate to hit the crossbar after a great solo run.
Forwards
Pablo (SS): 5
Another performance without a notable contribution to West Ham's attack.
Taty Castellanos (CF): 6
Was unlucky not to score as he struck the post twice.
