While the Ipswich Town match gave a huge momentum uplift to several West Ham forwards, the Hammers still need to display a good performance against the top Premier League teams. In the previous matches against Aston Villa, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool, West Ham managed to score only a combined three goals while conceding thirteen times. Defence is expected to improve further following Jean-Clair Todibo and Max Kilman's newly formed centre-back partnership but the attack still needs to be addressed if West Ham want to qualify for playing European football next season.
Moreover, West Ham are scheduled to face Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester United in two back-to-back fixtures after the international break and Julen Lopetegui's side may think about making reinforcements in the attack if the Hammers couldn't take any win from these matches. If that is the case, West Ham need to consider making a shortlist of in-form forwards that includes Eintracht Frankfurt's prolific striker Omar Marmoush. However, the 25-year-old Egypt international may reject West Ham's approach in favour of top Premier League clubs, thus, the Hammers should line up other alternatives to Marmoush.

According to Fichajes, West Ham have set their sights on signing UEFA Euro 2024 winner Ayoze Perez, who has sparked creativity into the Villarreal attack since his arrival. Perez joined Villarreal from Real Betis in the summer transfer window and has scored six goals and created two huge chances for the 2020/21 Europa League winners. The 31-year-old Spain international has a long-term four year contract at the club but could be interested in returning to the Premier League after spending time at Newcastle United and Leicester City previously.
Playing in the Premier League, Ayoze Perez made 223 combined appearances for both Newcastle United and Leicester City while registering 62 goal contributions as a right-winger. Therefore Perez is a familiar face in the Premier League and thus, won't need much time to adapt at the club under manager Julen Lopetegui. Also West Ham can sign the 31-year-old versatile forward for a transfer fee of around £15 million making him a more suitable option for the Hammers to bolster their attack.
Now it remains to be seen whether West Ham decide to agree an initial loan move for Perez in January or decide to sign another forward at the end of the next season.
