Despite the uncertainty over West Ham United's future in the Premier League, the Hammers are still being linked with several players.

It appears that strengthening the defence is the Hammers' priority. This makes sense, as the club does Dinos Mavropanos and Jean-Clair Todibo, Axel Disasi is only on loan from Chelsea, whilst Max Kilman has been out of form this campaign.

The Hammers have recently been linked with Lucas Herrington of the Colorado Rapids, but he is only 18 and would be considered one for the future. The experienced Waldemar Anton of Borussia Dortmund has also been mentioned as a possible recruit for Nuno Espirito Santo's side.

Now, another center-back is being linked with a move to the London Stadium. SportsBoom has published an article reporting that West Ham, Leeds United, and Brighton & Hove Albion are all interested in Lautaro Rivero.

Who is Lautaro Rivero?

Rivero is a 22-year-old center-back of one of Argentina's biggest clubs, River Plate. He came through the ranks at River and has made 25 appearances for them, scoring once. He has also gained valuable experience away from the club at Central Córdoba.

He already has one cap for Argentina, which came as a substitute in a 6-0 win over Puerto Rico. However, he was not included in Lionel Scaloni's recent roster.

Brighton would appear to be the favored destination for Rivero, as they have a track record of developing young South American talent. They also do not have relegation fears that Leeds and West Ham currently have.
