West Ham United have recruited well from Scotland in the past; Frank McAvennie and Ray Stewart both came down from north of the border. Now, players such as Josh Mulligan and Callum Osmand are being linked with the Hammers.

Ben Jacobs of GiveMeSport and talkSPORT, posted on X: "Understand West Ham have made an initial enquiry about Hiberbian midfielder Josh Mulligan. No bid yet as West Ham clarify outgoings first. Midfielder only recently back from an ankle injury but is attracting interest from England."

The Hammers need to strengthen their midfield with the likes of Mateus Fernandes set to depart the club. Mulligan starred for Hibs last season, scoring once and setting up five goals in 22 Scottish Premiership games. He helped his side finish fifth in the division.

Before playing for Hibernian, Mulligan was with Dundee United, who he helped to promotion from the Scottish Championship. He also had a loan at Cove Rangers, where he won the Scottish League Two. The midfielder also had two loan spells at Peterhead and has represented Scotland at the Under-21 level.

Milligan is a versatile 23-year-old who can play centrally as well as wide on the right and at right-back. He could be a useful player for Nuno Espirito Santo in the Championship next season.

According to ExWHUEmployee on the West Ham Way Patreon, the east London club is also interested in Osmand.

Osmand has an interesting background as he is from Jersey. He represented Wales at the U16 and U17 levels, but is only eligible to play for England at the senior level. There was a rule that if you were from the Channel Islands, you could play for any United Kingdom nation.

He played for Grouville in Jersey and then went to Fulham's academy. He played for the Cottagers in Premier League 2 before his transfer to Celtic.

Osmand has played four times for the Hoops and is already a hero after scoring in the Old Firm against Rangers. He found the back of the net in extra time to help secure a 3-1 win over their bitter rivals in the Scottish League Cup.

His other goal for Celtic came on the final day of the Scottish Premiership season, where he also got an assist in the crucial victory over Heart of Midlothian. Overall, his campaign for the Hoops was disrupted by injury. He is only 20, and would likely be one for the future if he is to join West Ham.
