Since the summer transfer window, there has been a lot of curiosity and surprise on West Ham's new £25 million star Luis Guilherme, who joined the Hammers from Palmeiras ahead of the new season. Initially expected to get more first team minutes following some impressive cameos in the pre-season, Guilherme has recently started featuring regularly for West Ham's U21 side. Moreover the 18-year-old bagged his first goal for the youth team when he scored the first goal against Benfica to lead West Ham's U21 team to complete a thrilling 2-2 comeback in the match.
Further, West Ham were struggling to score more goals after the previous international break and the speculation increased that the right-winger could be given some playing time in the first half of the season. In the recent 4-1 home win against Kieran McKenna's Ipswich Town, manager Julen Lopetegui addressed the excitement surrounding Guilherme by introducing him as a second half substitute with five minutes remaining in the match. This was a memorable moment for the Brazil U20 star, who has massively improved his agility and finishing to become a regular starter for the youth side in the Premier League 2.

Expressing his joy after making his first Premier League appearance for West Ham, Guilherme thanked West Ham's two first team stars, saying,
"I'm delighted to have made my debut. It's a dream come true to have played in the Premier League at 18 years old. Lucas Paqueta and Emerson have given me a lot. They are great players, and I’m proud to say they’re good friends too."

Now that the Brazilian talented forward has made his West Ham debut, Guilherme should focus towards becoming a consistent performer for the U21 team and should try to display some impressive cameos whenever he gets more first team minutes. The FA Cup can be a good opportunity for the right-wing prodigy and Lopetegui should play Guilherme more often on the right flank in the early stages of that competition. Further it remains to be seen whether other young West Ham talents are given some first team experience this season.
