West Ham United will need a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka if the right-back is to join Everton. This could be the Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Alebiosu.
According to SportsBoom, "West Ham United and Genoa are closely monitoring Alebiosu... The club (Blackburn) plans to set a price tag in the region of £3 million to £5 million for Alebiosu."
Alebiosu starred for Blackburn in the Championship last season. He made 39 appearances, scoring once and setting up five. The only games he missed were when he was with Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The right-back just played one game at AFCON, a 3-1 win over Uganda in the group stages. This was his debut for Nigeria. He was born in London, but qualifies to play for Nigeria through his parents.
Could Ryan Alebiosu be returning to London?
Alebiosu came through the ranks at Arsenal but did not make a senior appearance for the club. Whilst with the Gunners, the right-back was sent on loan to Crewe Alexandra in League One and Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.
He then joined the Belgian side Kortrijk but returned to Scotland on loan to St Mirren. Alebiosu joined Blackburn last year and is contracted to them until 2028.
Blackburn narrowly avoided relegation last season, but is expected to climb the table with new manager Tony Mowbray. If he were to join West Ham, then he would have a far greater chance of being promoted to the Premier League. Alebiosu would want the opportunity to play in English soccer's top flight after once making Arsenal's bench in the competition.
Genoa would also be a tempting option for Alebiosu, as they are in Italy's top flight. However, they did narrowly avoid relegation to Serie B last season.
