English forward Tammy Abraham appears to be close to the exit door at Roma after the Italian club signed La Liga top scorer Artem Dovbyk as the new centre forward. Thus, it has been reported that former Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham is looking to return to the Premier League and his current club Roma are bracing themselves for bids from a number of teams.

The former Chelsea striker scored 15 goals in his debut Premier League campaign in the 2019/20 season. However, Chelsea signed Timo Werner and Kai Havertz next season which reduced Abraham's playing time. Hence, Abraham left the Stamford Bridge to join Roma in 2021.

Abraham had a great debut season for Roma as well as the 26-year-old scored 27 goals throughout the season and helped Roma win the UEFA Conference League 2022. But in the following season, Abraham missed more than half of the season due to injuries. Currently, Abraham is the third choice centre forward after Artem Dovbyk and Paulo Dybala.

Therefore, Abraham wants to move to a new club this summer and Roma have made him available for around £20 million this summer. The forward has accumulated 50 goal contributions in 119 matches since joining Roma for £34 million in 2021.

West Ham are interested in signing Abraham as striker Danny Ings can leave the Hammers this summer. Further, Niclas Fullkrug can play as a playmaking centre forward alongside Abraham. Also, Abraham is 26 years old and if he performs well at the London Stadium, West Ham will have a prolific young striker at the club as well.

The new season is starting in a few days and if West Ham sign Abraham, he will have time to recover to the level of ability prior to his injury and be a key player for West Ham this season. Abraham could be a shrewd signing at a relatively cheap price. However, the Hammers will have to act quick as clubs like Tottenham, Chelsea and Aston Villa have also been rumoured to be interested in signing Abraham.
