After selling Said Benrahma to Lyon this summer and Maxwel Cornet's struggles in the last two years led West Ham to consider bringing in a right foot left winger to add more pace and creativity in an already star studded front line. Thus, West Ham completed the signing of Leeds United winger Cryscencio Summerville for £25 million a few days ago.
The Hammers then moved quickly to sign Niclas Fullkrug and Guido Rodriguez as well and are involved in negotiations with Manchester United to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Today, Cryscencio Summerville completed his West Ham medical and after that the Hammers announced their new signing.

Thus, it looks highly likely that Summerville will play his first West Ham game in the final preseason friendly against Celta Vigo with a view to playing a key role in the Premier League opener against Aston Villa at the London Stadium.
Recently, star players like Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta have also joined the team and alongside Edson Alvarez can feature in the Celta Vigo friendly as well. In terms of transfers, West Ham still need to bring in a new centre back as well as a new right back to improve the defence and aim for a top six finish in the 2024/25 Premier League season.
