West Ham are yet to find an agreement with Manchester United to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Recently, Inter Milan have also entered the race to sign Wan-Bissaka and are ready to do a swap deal with Manchester United as well. Inter Milan are offering Champions League football to Wan-Bissaka, thus making Inter Milan as the favourites to sign the 26-year-old fullback.

This has led West Ham to consider alternatives to Wan-Bissaka for the right back position. According to Chronicle Live, West Ham have asked Newcastle United about a potential transfer move for elite right back Kieran Trippier. Despite being 33-years-old, Trippier is still a top performer for Newcastle and the England national team as well.

Signed in January 2022, Trippier helped Newcastle avoid relegation and the next season, led the Magpies to a top four Premier League finish as well. Last season, Trippier scored one goal and provided ten assists for Newcastle in the Premier League as they narrowly missed out on qualifying for European football.

The former Tottenham Hotspur defender has played the UEFA Champions League final with Tottenham and won the La Liga in the 2020/21 season with Atletico Madrid. On top of that, Trippier also reached back to back UEFA Euro finals with England as well.

Although, Trippier isn't a defensive right back like Wan-Bissaka, he contributes in the build up play and is a reliable defender as well. West Ham's need for a new right-back is clear, with Vladimir Coufal being their only recognized senior option in that position. Thus, Trippier's experience and competitive edge could provide the necessary depth and quality to bolster West Ham's defensive ranks.
