Should West Ham start Danny Ings against Chelsea in the Premier League

West Ham have three centre forwards in their squad this season after the signing of Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund in this summer transfer window. While Fullkrug is expected to be the starting striker for the Hammers, manager Julen Lopetegui has decided to start experienced forward Michail Antonio in all four Premier League games. Fullkrug is recovering from his achilles injury and Antonio hasn't started the season on a high note with the 34-year-old struggling with pace in the four league matches. 

On the other hand, Danny Ings was the star for West Ham in the recent 1-1 draw, while coming on as a second half substitute to level the match for the Hammers. Therefore, Ings is a decent option for Julen Lopetegui's side and could be given a first Premier League start this season against Chelsea in the home fixture. Throughout this transfer window, Ings was subject to several transfer rumours suggesting a move away from the London Stadium, but the former England international stayed at the club.

Now he scored a brilliant goal against Fulham and helped West Ham take an important point from the match despite an underwhelming performance for a large part of the game. Moreover, he is in good form and with his huge Premier League experience, can play a key role again for Julen Lopetegui's side who have been inconsistent in the beginning of this new season. Further, captain Jarrod Bowen praised the former Liverpool forward and talked about his incredible all-round qualities as a centre forward. 

Now manager Julen Lopetegui needs to make a huge decision in the attack about whether to start Danny Ings or bring Bowen at the centre forward position. Meanwhile, Fullkrug isn't completely ruled out from the Chelsea match and could play some minutes after recovering from his injury.
