West Ham haven't had a great start to the new season despite the fact that the Hammers brought in nine new signings and managed to assemble a brilliant squad in the summer transfer window. A big reason for that can be that Julen Lopetegui's side are gradually adapting to the new tactical setup and have already played two big matches against Aston Villa and Manchester City at the beginning of the season. However, now the Hammers need to start taking consecutive wins in the Premier League to build a good momentum towards the end of the season.

The recent 1-1 draw with Fulham wasn't a convincing overall performance and thus, West Ham are expected to put an incredible performance against Chelsea and win this home fixture. West Ham are expected to make some lineup changes for this match with Niclas Fullkrug and Emerson likely to play some minutes as a second half substitute and manager Julen Lopetegui can give Danny Ings his first Premier League start of the season. On that note, Premier League analyst Paul Merson has predicted another draw for West Ham, saying,

"The problem with West Ham is that they're still figuring out their best Iineup after making some important signings this summer.

But at the moment, there's not much difference between the two sides. Barring the big win over Wolves, Chelsea have been quite poor for their standards. I think this game will end in a draw."

Merson highlighted that West Ham haven't started most of their new signings in the Premier League and are gradually trying to make lineup changes to have a great balance of young and experienced players in their team. Now, after four league matches, manager Julen Lopetegui should give more playing time to Jean-Clair Todibo and Cryscencio Summerville, alongside Fullkrug, who is recovering from his injury during the international break. Moreover, after two Premier League home defeats, West Ham are expected to take some points from this match.
