West Ham have found a new star in the ongoing preseason friendlies. Scottish midfielder, Andy Irving who was signed from SK Austria Klagenfurt last year under former manager, David Moyes is the star of the show with his superb displays against Ferencvaros and Dag and Red.

The 24-year-old who was signed and immediately loaned back to the Austria side, provided a last minute assist on Atletico Madrid linked Nayef Aguerd's 2-2 equaliser against Ferencvaros. And in the game against Dag and Red the midfielder scored a beautiful top corner goal which was enough as West Ham took a 1-0 win.

However, there is still doubts over his future with the question that is the Scottish midfielder ready to start and make a positive impact in the Premier League. And according to the Athletic, Julen Lopetegui seems to have made up his decision on Andy Irving's future.

The report states that West Ham recently rejected two loan approaches for the midfielder from Espanyol and the Bundesliga. This comes as an exciting news for West Ham as it means that Tim Steidten and Julen Lopetegui view Andy Irving as a key part of the Hammers long term future.
