A few days ago, trusted journalist, Florian Plettenberg also revealed that West Ham are still considering Duran in case they couldn't find an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for Niclas Fullkrug. However, Fullkrug has being signed by West Ham as the new number nine which means that the Hammers won't make a move to bring in another forward in this transfer window.
But Duran's agents are asking Villa to accept a lower bid from West Ham as Duran is very keen on the West Ham move. First of all, Duran's actions off the field suggest that he wants to leave Aston Villa in order to get more playing time next season.
Also, with Unai Emery's side having a star player like Ollie Watkins as the centre forward, it is more difficult for Duran to become a starter at Villa. At 20 years old, Duran needs to be playing regularly so that he can become a world class striker in the future. Further, if he struggles next season with consistency and injuries, there might be less clubs interested in him.
