Although West Ham weren't great in the first Premier League match after the international break but they managed to take an important point in the 1-1 draw with Fulham. While the first half performance was underwhelming with Fulham finding a lot of open spaces behind the Hammers midfield, manager Julen Lopetegui's second half substitutes brought West Ham back into the game after being 1-0 down. Among them, Danny Ings was a brilliant addition in place of Michail Antonio and scored the equalizing goal for West Ham in the last minute of the match.
Throughout this summer transfer window, Danny Ings has been the subject of transfer rumours regarding a move away from West Ham as he has entered the final year of his contract at the London Stadium. Despite the arrival of centre forward Niclas Fullkrug, Ings stayed at the club aiming to perform well at West Ham this season after struggling in the previous one and a half seasons, with only four goals scored in around fifty appearances for the Hammers. However, Ings scored his fifth West Ham goal in the recent 1-1 draw, and showcased his ability to become a reliable squad player for Julen Lopetegui's side this season.

Now club captain Jarrod Bowen, who gave the assist on Ings's goal heaped praise on him and his impressive quality, saying,
"Ings took the chance beautifully. I don’t think anyone has ever doubted his quality, we see it every day in training. What we’re trying to create here is when you’re not in the starting eleven, when you come on the pitch it’s about making an impact."

Also, star forward Niclas Fullkrug will need some time to adapt to West Ham's squad after his injury, and Michail Antonio hasn't been a great performer in the four Premier League matches, thus, manager Julen Lopetegui should start giving more playing time to Ings in the upcoming fixtures.
