Former West Ham assistant manager suggests an improved front three for the Hammers
West Ham's struggles in the attack are well known and the Brentford match highlighted that as the Hammers were unable to find the winning goal despite the home side playing without several of their first team players. For Brentford, star players such as Aaron Hickey, Joshua Da Silva and Yoane Wissa were sidelined with injuries, giving West Ham a big chance to secure the three points from this match. However, as has happened this season, West Ham were unable to find much space behind the Brentford midfield and didn't create enough goal scoring chances inside the final third.
Although Julen Lopetegui's side have a star studded squad, they haven't looked convincing with their displays going forward. Moreover, new signing Niclas Fullkrug is currently unavailable due to his injury and experienced forwards Michail Antonio and Danny Ings have been largely inconsistent with their performances since the last season. Thus, Lopetegui needs to find a new tactical setup to address his side's shortcomings in the attack as the Hammers have scored two goals in a match, only once this season.

Now, former West Ham assistant manager Kevin Nolan, who worked under former manager David Moyes, has suggested new manager Julen Lopetegui a brilliant front three lineup, saying,
"Lucas is an absolutely fantastic player. We used him in the number ten role and we used him as one of the wide lads as well because he is really close with Emerson.

Emerson would get up and down and he would do that extra work because they are really good lads."
In this way, Paqueta playing on the left wing position will allow Kudus to return to his preferred central playmaker role, as he hasn't looked impressive this season while playing on the left flank. Moreover, in Fullkrug's abscence Cryscencio Summerville should be started as the number nine, who has been decent with his creativity and playmaking around the edge of the box in the recent matches. Now, it remains to be seen whether Lopetegui starts Paqueta on the left or changes his formation for the next match.
