Former Aston Villa striker talks about the performance of two new West Ham players
- Former Aston Villa striker Tony Cascarino talks about the performance of two new West Ham players.
- Cascarino said Summerville and Mohammed Kudus didn't create much chances in the second half.
West Ham didn't have a great start to the new season. Although there were a few players that were brilliant for West Ham, overall this was a similar performance as compared to the last season. Again, West Ham's defence conceded an early goal and looked unconvincing throughout the game.
Also, there were a few players that were making their debut for West Ham in this match. While Max Kilman and Guido Rodriguez were in the starting lineup, Cryscencio Summerville and Niclas Fullkrug came in the second half with fifteen minutes remaining in the match. Summerville came on for club captain Jarrod Bowen, who didn't had a great game and Fullkrug came on for Michail Antonio.

Now, former Aston Villa striker Tony Cascarino has talked about the performance of the two new forwards, saying,
"It was immediately clear that Lopetegui would need to improve his side’s delivery and timing for Fullkrug who tried to find the space between defenders.

Here it did not help him that Crysencio Summerville, who also came on for 17 minutes, took an extra touch before crossing and Mohammed Kudus, though hugely skilful, lost his influence when switched to the right wing.
"
Although Summerville made a few heavy touches, his passing and crossing were great throughout the game. Also, Fullkrug contributes with key passes from the build up play as well alongside trying to score goals from inside the box. Further, talking about Mohammed Kudus, he was one of the best players in the match for West Ham despite playing on the left wing and right wing, when his preferred position is playing as a playmaker behind the striker.
Hence, manager Julen Lopetegui should start Summerville at left wing and Fullkrug as the centre forward in the next match against Crystal Palace.
