During the summer transfer window, West Ham reached an agreement with Manchester United to sign £15 million fullback Aaron Wan-Bissaka to bolster their defence. Signing the 26-year-old has been one of the best decisions made by the Hammers, as Wan-Bissaka has quickly become an integral part of their defence alongside fellow new signings Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo. Now, West Ham can consider signing another Manchester United star next year.

England international Harry Maguire joined Manchester United from Leicester City in 2019, but hasn't been a consistent performer for the Red Devils in the previous five years. Moreover, Maguire has made a few defensive mistakes while starting the build up play which has led to the 31-year-old getting less playing time in the previous two seasons.

Moreover, Manchester United signed Matthijs De Ligt and Leny Yoro in the summer transfer window, and already have Lisandro Martinez in their squad, thus, Maguire isn't the starting centre-back for Erik Ten Hag's side. Still, the central defender can be a great option for West Ham given the Hammers implement a possession based tactical setup.

Maguire can play in the defensive role while Max Kilman will start the build up play, thus, giving only defensive responsibilities to Maguire, which he successfully performed at Leicester City. Further, Maguire has a lot of experience playing in the Premier League as well as in European football, and thus, the England international can be a role-model for West Ham's young defenders. Maguire has entered into the final year of his Manchester United contract and thus, can be available on a free transfer at the end of the season.

On top of that, West Ham can secure his services by signing him from Manchester United for around £10 million transfer fee in the January transfer window itself. Now it remains to be seen whether the Hammers decide to sign Maguire in the upcoming transfer windows.
