Jesse Lingard was a star player for West Ham United when he came on loan at the club in 2021 from Manchester United. He scored nine goals with five assists in 16 matches for the Hammers. This helped David Moyes' side finish sixth and qualify for the Europa League.

Moyes took the Hammers on many adventures across the continent, which included winning the Europa Conference League. It was a shame that Lingard did not join West Ham permanently and be a part of this.

Lingard opted to stay at United, where he even scored a late winner against the Hammers in the Premier League. However, he continued to lack game time at Old Trafford. When his deal expired at United, he had a chance to join West Ham again, but ended up joining Nottingham Forest.

Hammers fans were furious at Lingard for choosing Forest over them. As a result of this, when West Ham played Forest, Lingard was subject to much abuse, which included Hammers supporters throwing fake banknotes at the player.

It was unfortunate that Jesse Lingard did not join West Ham permanently

Lingard's time at Forest did not work out, and his next destination was to head to the South Korean side, FC Seoul. Now, the midfielder is set to travel across the world again for his next club. ESPN has revealed that "Corinthians are in advanced negotiations to sign attacking midfielder Jesse Lingard."

Corinthians are one of the biggest clubs in Brazil, and they have won the Club World Cup twice. Ronaldo, Rivaldo, and Roberto Carlos all represented the side. It was also Corinthians that West Ham signed Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano from.

They are currently third in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, but only after four games. Lingard will be reunited with his former United teammate, Memphis Depay, at the club.

Lingard is now 33 and delivered some great performances for West Ham. Some Hammers fans will not forgive him for not joining the club permanently. However, his experience in South Korea and potentially in Brazil could be a great way for him to end his career.
