West Ham United has United States star on their radar
The United States national football team is slowly growing in talent due to the presence of talented young players. These include Christian Pulisic, Josh Sargeant, and George Bello. Another notable name is Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie, who is linked with a transfer away from Turin. West Ham United has been one of many teams to have recently been rumored to want him.
McKennie is one of Europe’s most highly-rated prospects, and the news of him being on West Ham’s radar has excited the Hammers fans. Aston Villa and Everton are two other Premier League clubs who hold some interest in the United States international, who scored five goals in 34 games for Juventus since arriving from Schalke 04 last summer.
McKennie, who grew up in Germany, had initially signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the University of West Virginia, but instead, he joined Schalke 04 as a teenager. He progressed to the first team, eventually joining Juventus on loan for the 2020/21 season. He signed a permanent contract last summer to stay in Serie A for four years.

The 23-year-old is a versatile, box-to-box player who is able to operate as either a defensive midfielder or as an attacker. His ability to hold and carry the ball from several positions on the pitch led to him being called “Schalke’s jack-of-all-trades midfielder.” He also can act as a defensive player due to his tough tackling and consistent tracking of opposition players. Given his multi-role talents, he is flexible in different formations and tactics.
McKennie is going to be in demand for seasons to come if he does not sign for another club this season. West Ham United is a surprise name to be in contention to sign him, but the fans have reacted well to the news. McKennie could make a move to London this summer, but there will be fierce competition to get his signature.
