7th: West Ham

Finally we have reached our beloved West Ham. This 7th place finish might be a little wishful thinking at the moment right now but I think it’s something David Moyes‘ squad can achieve. Seriously lacking depth after last season’s 6th place finish and Europa League football on the way, this season could take a few bad turns. But I do have faith that a few new signings will come in before the end of this quiet transfer window.

Antonio is still the only senior striker at the club and if we don’t get at least a backup in before this window shuts then I don’t think 7th place is looking too likely. Another area that needs improvement in these next few weeks is the center back position. While it’s looked like we’ve been close to one for weeks now there’s no new bodies in yet. The Irons only signing so far is French goalie Alphonse Areola who came in on loan from PSG. Areola will provide some good competition with Fabianski for that first team keeper spot.

Big seasons will be needed from forwards Saïd Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen to help Antonio bang in these goals. With Pablo Fornals running the midfield and feeding these attackers passes I see a lot of goals coming. The only problem is these four won’t be able to play every game without getting run straight into the ground.

Declan Rice staying is another big win for the Irons since their were a few big clubs apparently keeping their eye on him this window.

But with all things considered, West Ham will need to get at least a few more signings in these coming weeks if they want to build on that success they found last year. Without any more incomings I could see a much more mid table finish.
