West Ham Boss David Moyes Looking Up Not Down

David Moyes is looking up the Premier League table rather than down. The West Ham manager has worked wonders since his return to the club. Moyes has helped convert the team from relegation candidates to European contenders. The Scottish manager is not ruling anything out this season.

West Ham have dropped to sixth position in the league after Chelsea and Everton won their matches last night. The blues and Toffees leapfrogged the Hammers after 1-0 away victories over Liverpool and West Brom. Moyes’ side could, however, climb back to fifth place in the table if they beat Leeds United on Monday, depending on the result of Chelsea’s match against Everton.

Despite the slip down the table, it has still been a remarkable season for the Hammers. Moyes’ side has taken everyone by surprise. Players like Tomas Soucek, Declan Rice, Michail Antonio and Vladimir Coufal have all been fantastic this season. There has also been improved performances from former strugglers like Issa Diop, Aaron Cresswell and Lukasz Fabianski.

The whole West Ham squad have put in quality performances this season under David Moyes’ guidance from the dugout.

The combination of all these player’s form have shown that there has always been quality in the West Ham team. That quality has not shown in recent seasons, but now the potential is being realised.

Another reason behind the team’s improvement is the inclusion of young blood brought into the squad. Jarrod Bowen, Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals all have plenty of top-flight football experience despite being 25-years-old and younger. This is something that Moyes wants to build around.

Moyes has generally tried to downplay expectations this season, but with only 12 games to go, even he is starting to think the dream may be possible. West Ham will need to keep pace with Champions League regulars Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton, but considering their inconsistent form, anything is possible.
