West Ham Facing Battle to keep Grady Diangana
West Ham’s Diangana has impressed on loan at West Brom this season, this form has started to attract interest from around from Europe.
Grady Diangana joined former manager Slaven Bilic‘s Baggies side on loan last summer after breaking into the West Ham United first team last season. The move has seen Diangana realise his potential in the English Championship, as he has been trusted with significant game time.
The game time that Diangana has been given has been repaid with the English winger scoring seven and assist six goals from only twenty-seven appearances. Diangana has shown himself to be one of the most exciting players in the division.
The 22-year-old has developed many of his skill during his loan spell. Diangana’s dribbling, passing, attacking creativity and finishing have all improved significantly. The skill that Diangana has shown has led to the belief that he would become a first-team regular for West Ham in the 2020-21 season.
Diangana has shown how good he can become and this has attracted interest from some top European clubs. West Brom will, of course, want to secure Diangana’s services on a permanent basis but will not only need to convince West Ham to sell but will have to compete with Celtic and Ajax who are reportedly interested in the young star.
West Ham will not want to lose Diangana on the cheap though, especially as he signed a six-year contract extension last year. His contract runs till 2025 meaning that the Hammers are in a very strong position and can demand a high sum if they were to entertain offers for Diangana.
The rising star is valued at £4 million on TransferMarket.com. The Sun has, however, reported that it would take a sum of between £15-20 million to convince the Hammers to sell their promising winger.
Another factor that will make a sale even less likely, is that believed that David Moyes rates Diangana highly and is looking forward to having him back in the squad. Moyes will be excited about the prospect of having Diangana after the form shown by current Hammer Felipe Anderson has been below par this season.
It remains unlikely that Hammers fans will have to say goodbye to Diangana any time soon, but stranger things have happened in the transfer market.
