With Chicharito pending departure, how does it fare for West Ham United?

Chicharito has in a weird way stated his intent to look elsewhere from West Ham United. The move is an expected one but will it be in the favor for the Hammers or a negative outlook as the team moves forward into the second year of The Pellegrini Project.

Already this season West Ham have lost forward assists in the form of Lucas Perez and Andy Carroll. Leaving only Arnautovic, Hernandez, Hugill, and Silva. But as previously mentioned, West Ham would most likely have to sell Hernandez before bringing in a coveted new forward.

Well apparently, Chicha has a new vlog on YouTube, haven’t watched but curious, and on there he somewhat reviled he is looking elsewhere and that the feeling is mutual. He was quoted saying, “I have an agent in Mexico. I need someone to get me stuff in Mexico too but Lauren, Romain is working as a team with us.”

Hernandez almost mentioned of his agent, “He is Spanish so had more connections here. He’s searching for a club if we can move. If not I will stay with West Ham easy, happy. I have one year left, but West Ham and I have decided it would just be easier to go out.”

With a move confirmed by ExWHUemployee on Twitter it looks imminent that it would be to most likely Spain or the MLS. How might it favor the club?

On one hand, West Ham needs to move them forward in order to bring in any others that Pellegrini and Co might have in mind. On his day, you won’t find a better forward in the box than Chicharito, look below, but his time in East London hasn’t been the most favorable or productive.

On the other hand, will the Hammers be able to bring in someone who can mesh with the squad and adapt well to the Premier League? With reports of both Maxi Gomez and others both inside and outside of the EPL linked to West Ham, you never really know how they will adapt. With the nicknamed fox in the box, we know what we have and it’s at times comforting.

It’s a case of stay with what’s familiar or go with something new and hopefully better, either way, I doubt this deal will happen before players report back to Rush Green next week. Deals happen a lot faster these days but unless something is already in the works, I would expect to see Chicha at the training ground next week before finding out what the Hammers will do with the Mexican forward.
