West Ham United and the revolving door of the transfer window
Every season the transfer window has its highs and lows, its fast times and slow. This seems to be the case for West Ham at the moment as it looks like they could have one door open and two doors close.
On Friday, the news of the new Spanish keeper for West Ham came and then what seemed like hours later, news of one more leaving. Lucas Perez seems to be on his way out and to some, excitement. Others, might there be some contention?
The issue some might have is that West Ham will take close to a £1.5m pay cut to offload him. Another source of contention, for lack of playtime Perez, has put in the work when he has played. Case in point, see exhibit A. However, going back to the title this isn’t what we are here to talk about, well at least not just this.

According to the giant ball of fire and gas, aka The Sun, Spanish giants Valencia are reportedly peaking around at another West Ham forward, Chicharito. Now there has been no club related report to go with this, it does draw out some interesting thoughts about this potential loss.
Now I actually really do like Hernandez and I wrote an article last month about how and why the club should keep him but for the right price, I think West Ham would sell and look for a younger forward. My first fear with this news, the inquiry was for £8m and Chicha came to the Hammers for just around £16m.
My other fear with this is if Perez and Hernandez leave then that leaves West Ham with Arnautovic and Silva as its two forwards. Chicha has not just sat around either this year putting in 7 goals and 3 assists in 25 matches. Not lights out but not sleeping either.
Now, of course, I have no doubt the Pellegrini and Co. will work out some magic to bring in their type of player but it’s going to leave a huge hole to fill and a lot of question marks to go along with it. One door has opened officially and two doors might soon close but what is next for the Hammers and who will it be?
