West Ham take on Wolves in their second home game of the season, so can they grab a win? Our staff writers give a go at predicting the weekend’s result.

Jeremiah – 2-2

This start has been no cake walk for the Hammers and Wolves are no roll over opponent. The most promising thing, in my opinion, that has happened to West Ham so far was the other night when we showed resilience coming back and winning.

With that being said, it’s Wolves at home. They come into this on the backs of there own English Cup win as well as recently drawing with the defending champions in Manchester City. For a newly promoted team Wolverhampton are no slouch and West Ham will do well to recognise that. I think we will still struggle on the back end but show some more offence in a 2-2 draw. COME ON YOU IRONS!

Jeff- 2-1

Three games into the season and West Ham have both struggled to score goals and struggled to keep the ball out of their own net. I see nothing heading into the match with Wolves to make me think this game plays out any differently. Without Marko Arnautovic, who could miss the match with a knock , West Ham will find it even tougher to convert possession into goals in the final third. Much as they have in the prior contests.

But considering the fact the Irons looked better against Arsenal, this match is at home and it’s against a newly promoted side, the Hammers are able to nick out a win. I see it 2-1 to West Ham United. With a little luck elsewhere around the Premiership at the weekend, those 3 points should get the club out of the bottom of the table and moving on up from here.

Adam: 2-1

It may have been against ten men but West Ham are rolling now having picked up their first win of the season. Wolves are a disciplined team who can keep their shape throughout the pitch, so this match will be very challenging for West Ham, that being said I do think the hammers can take down the Premier League newcomers.

I do believe we’ll see a 4-2-3-1 formation with Arnautovic starting amidst reports of an injury to his calf. If fit he’ll lead from the front for West Ham. An attacking midfield line of Snodgrass, Anderson, and Yarmolenko should feature next, all building off of that strong performance against Wimbledon. In the defensive midfield pairing it’s clear that Pellegrini will select Wilshere but look for Rice to get the nod over Sanchez. Rice is motivated right now and barely put a foot wrong against Wimbledon, plus he needs the added distraction with his International future weighing on him

Scott: 2-0

West Ham may have looked average at best so far, but I think there’s a lot more to come from Pellegrini’s men. Anderson looked far better in the centre against Arsenal and despite conceding three in that match for the most part we looked better. Ogbonna shouldn’t be starting and I hope we see Balbuena and Diop in the middle this weekend.

If we can sort out or soft middle then we have a great chance to win this match, even though Wolves have looked better than I thought they would do this season. Despite starting well, Wolves still haven’t got a win and Pellegrini will probably view this match as one of our last realistic chances of a win until October because of some tough fixtures. Without a win here, Christmas could look very bleak for the Hammers.
