West Ham Rumors: Fans React as Wissam Ben Yedder nears Arsenal or Sevilla Move
With West Ham striker targets falling by the wayside almost every day it seems today is the turn of Wissam Ben Yedder as he is linked to Arsenal and Sevilla, just days after we reported West Ham were closing in a deal for the French striker.
The Ben Yedder story is one that follows a very familiar cycle, one that West Ham fans have got very used to this summer, where we say we are linked to a player, the player gets close to signing and then someone else comes in that the offers the player more money/champions league football and we’re left hanging around without a striker.
Consequently West Ham fans have gone from this:
to this in a matter of days:
Meanwhile, Arsenal fans seem decidedly mixed on the news
And this wonderful YouTube generation football fan comment, that I really want to be sarcastic but I’m just not sure
It remains to be seen whether the French news channel is reliable but whether it is or it isn’t for me it highlights the fact that West Ham are just waiting a little too long on all the transfers, we’re not the only team in the market for a striker and when value like a consistent goal scorer for £8m comes along there really isn’t much to discuss in my opinion.

Ben Yedder may be small but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t pick up goals, we already have physicality in the team and physical options if that’s what the game requires. Lanzini is certainly not a physical player but he was a great player last season because he used the other attributes in his armory rather than just bundling players over.

West Ham fans are annoyed that rumours like this even have a chance to manifest, given how long we have been linked to the player and the low price he would be available for. I hope the board get things together and get some first team transfer activity sorted soon.
