West Ham United are back in action on Tuesday night, turning their attention to a Carabao Cup clash with Premier League side Fulham. The Hammers are coming off a sensational 6-0 win over Wrexham in the Championship, setting out their promotion stall with six different scorers against a Wrexham side many fancy to challenge for promotion themselves this season.
Nuno Espirito Santo will want his men to kick on from that result, especially after a slow start, and he will see the Carabao Cup as a way to keep up some momentum.
Fulham are off to a slow start themselves, with Alvaro Arbeloa taking over a very young group, but there were signs of improvement over the weekend. The Cottagers drew with Liverpool at Anfield and were unlucky not to find the net, regularly catching the Reds on the break.

Tom Cairney - Out
Cairney is out until October after having a procedure on his knee. A statement confirmed at the time: "Tom underwent a minor surgical procedure to his left knee earlier today. He will now undergo a rehab programme with the Club’s medical and performance staff, and is expected to return to training after the September international break."
Ryan Sessegnon - Out
Alvaro Arbeloa has confirmed: "We had a small problem with [Ryan]. We didn't take the risk with him at the weekend; he won't be ready for tomorrow. We don't want to take any risks. A small groin problem."
Tomas Soucek - Out
Soucek is getting closer but is not yet ready to return from his World Cup injury. Santo said last week: “He is getting better. He is doing some parts of the sessions with the rest of the group already, but we’re also trying to complement that with some individual fitness work, so that he’s in the right place when he comes back. Right now the priority is for him to get back to full fitness, and then we’ll see when he is ready to play.”
Alphonse Areola - Doubt
Areola suffered a dead leg that kept him out of the Wrexham game. He will be assessed ahead of this one. Santo said before the Wrexham game: “With Areola, it was a dead leg, but he is improving, and we are continuing to assess him day by day.”
