Tomas Soucek's goal looked like it was to seal West Ham United an important three points. However, Benjamin Sesko equalized in the 96th minute to keep Michael Carrick's unbeaten run in the Manchester United dugout intact.

West Ham are now just two points below Nottingham Forest, who occupy the space above the relegation zone. However, Forest face bottom of the league, Wolverhampton Wanderers, next.

West Ham–Man United Premier League player ratings

Below, we're rating the West Ham players on a scale of 1 to 10.

Goalkeeper and defenders

Mads Hermansen (GK): 6

Mads Hermansen was solid, as he was against Burnley when he came back into the side. You cannot blame him for Sesko's equalizer.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB): 7

Playing against his former club, Aaron Wan-Bissaka made a crucial clearance off the line to deny the Red Devils from taking the lead.

Dinos Mavropanos (CB): 7

Dinos Mavropanos was solid and is West Ham's most reliable defender.

Axel Disasi (CB): 5

This was always going to be a test for Disasi after a promising debut against Burnley. His performance faded late against United, struggling with the physicality of the United substitute Joshua Zirkzee. He also let Sesko have too much space when the forward equalized.

El Hadji Malick Diouf (LB): 7

The Senegalese AFCON champion is so good on the ball and can spray some long passes forward. He was involved in the build-up to Soucek's goal with his excellent vision to find Jarrod Bowen.

Midfielders

Mateus Fernandes (CM): 6

Mateus Fernandes had to put in a disciplined performance in a more defensive role.

Freddie Potts (CM): 6

Freddie Potts partnered Fernandes well in the middle of the park, but was replaced by Soungoutou Magassa in the second half.

Tomas Soucek (CAM): 8

Playing in a more advanced position, Soucek was always ready to pick the ball up when it was knocked down to him. He tapped in from Bowen's cross to give West Ham the lead. The midfielder also got back to defend well.

Forwards

Jarrod Bowen (RW): 8

Bowen held the ball up well and was able to bring others into play. He produced a fine low cross to assist Soucek's goal.

Taty Castellanos (CF): 5

Taty Castellanos was always in the right areas. However, he could have closed down the opposition defenders a bit better. Nuno Espirito Santo's first substitution was to bring Callum Wilson on for the Argentine.

Crysencio Summerville (LW): 7

Crysencio Summerville is full of confidence and was able to cut in and produce efforts on goal.

Substitutes

  • Callum Wilson, 5/10
  • Soungoutou Magassa, 6/10
  • Oliver Scarles, 6/10
  • Kyle Walker-Peters, N/A
