Last night was particularly interesting from a West Ham United perspective on the international stage. Manor Solomon earned his 50th cap for Israel, but saw his side lose 3-1 to Austria. Dinos Mavropanos helped Greece defeat Serbia 2-1. Mads Hermansen was on the bench for Denmark as they lost 3-2 to Norway.
There was also interest from an ex-West Ham point of view. Craig Bellamy's Wales lost 1-0 to Portugal. Crysencio Summerville played for the Netherlands as they drew 1-1 with Germany. Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were both in action for DR Congo as they beat Equatorial Guinea 2-0.
Today, Airidas Golambeckis, Finlay Herrick, Ezra Mayers and Divine Mukasa will be involved for the England U20s as they take on Italy. Former Hammer El Hadj Malick Diouf will also be in action for Senegal against Mozambique. Nayef Aguerd and Issa Diop are expected to play for Morocco against Gabon.
Another ex-West Ham player who could play today is Callum Marshall for Northern Ireland against Georgia in the Nations League. That game kicks off at 5 pm (BST) and will be on BBC 2, BBC iPlayer, and the BBC Sport Website.
Marshall did not get a real chance in West Ham's first team
Marshall began his career in Northern Ireland with Linfield before joining the Hammers. However, he would only make three first-team appearances for the east London side. He made substitute appearances against Arsenal and Brentford in the Premier League. Marshall also made a cameo against Bristol City in an FA Cup replay.
He was prolific for West Ham's Under-21s scoring 30 goals in 44 games. Marshall also had a great record for the U18s, finding the back of the net 29 times in 39 matches. He was part of the Hammers side that won the FA Youth Cup, where they defeated Jack Wilshere's Arsenal 6-1 in the final, with Marshall getting on the scoresheet. Marshall also helped West Ham win the U18 Premier League South.
Whilst at West Ham, Marshall was sent on loan to West Bromwich Albion, but he played just three games for the Baggies in the Championship. He then had a good campaign with Huddersfield Town in League One, scoring nine goals with three assists in 43 matches in the division. He was also the Terriers' Player of the Year.
The striker spent the first half of last season with West Ham, where he made his two Premier League appearances. He then spent the second half of the campaign at Bochum in the Bundesliga 2. He played 16 times for the German side, scoring twice and making two assists.
Over the summer, Marshall left West Ham permanently for Luton Town who are now managed by Wilshere. He has played seven times in League One for the Hatters, scoring twice. After starring for Huddersfield in English football's third tier, League One is where he could thrive again.
Marshall has 16 caps for Northern Ireland, but is yet to find the back of the net for them. They are in League B of the Nations League and are in Group B2 alongside Hungary, Ukraine, and, as mentioned, Georgia. He is only 21, so he has time in his career to prove to West Ham that they may have let him go too early.
