West Ham tipped to register massive win over Ipswich Town

Ahead of the seventh Premier League matchday, West Ham face a tricky fixture at home against Ipswich Town. While the newly promoted side is yet to take a win this season, their impressive performances to take an important draw against Fulham and Aston Villa in the recent weeks have been commendable. Moreover, Kieran McKenna's side have drawn four consecutive matches and are gaining some momentum in the Premier League while West Ham have had an inconsistent start to their season with five points after six matches. 

In the previous match, West Ham had a great opportunity to take a much needed win against Brentford but could only manage a 1-1 draw after going 1-0 down in the first minute. Further, Ipswich Town have scored two equalisers in the previous two matches, and thus, Julen Lopetegui's side need to be reliable while defending to avoid conceding a last-minute equaliser in this match.

Now, Premier League analyst Paul Merson has expressed his thoughts on this fixture and has tipped the Hammers to take a convincing 3-1 win, saying,

"This is a big chance for West Ham to get the all three points they desperately need.

I would be shocked if West Ham lose this game if I'm being honest. I have a feeling they'll come alive in this fixture and get that much-needed win."

Merson predicted West Ham to play as an improved team and Julen Lopetegui's side will secure the three points from this match heading into the international break. Moreover, a win at the London Stadium would boost West Ham's momentum, as they will face Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester United in two consecutive Premier League fixtures after the international break. 

On top of that, if the Hammers take some good results from those two games, they would get a massive boost for the remainder of the season as they attempt to secure a top six finish in the league in order to return to playing European football from the next season.
