West Ham revisit interest in Manchester United defender
West Ham United are reportedly revisiting their interest in Manchester United defender as they look to bolster the squad for the upcoming campaign.
Plans for the next season have seemingly begun for The Irons as they continue to seek stability.
According to The Sun, West Ham are rekindling their interest in Man United centre-back Harry Maguire who has been on their radar since last year.
The two clubs held talks in July prior to the beginning of the season over both Maguire and the midfielder Scott McTominay.
Maguire’s move fell through in the final stages because of contract complications with Man United.
The Sun’s report added that the London side is prepared to fork out around £15 to £20 million and offer the England defender a two or three-year deal.
Maguire, who was stripped of the Red Devils’ captaincy, will see his contract expire in June 2025.
He joined United in 2019 from Leicester City and has made 198 appearances, scoring 12 goals and turning a provider on ten occasions.
Meanwhile, the club is also still interested in Arsenal’s Emile Smith Rowe. They were said to have had a bid rejected in January according to Fabrizio Romano.
